By business typeA booking page for tutors — no coaching app, no website
Parents are not comparing coaching apps. They are comparing tutors — and the first thing they check is what you teach, what it costs, and whether you actually reply.
India's private tutoring market is enormous and still growing fast, but almost none of that growth shows up as "download our app." A parent looking for a maths tutor for their tenth-grader is not comparing learning-management platforms. They are comparing people — asking a neighbour, scrolling a WhatsApp group, or tapping the link in a tutor's Instagram bio to see what subjects, what batch timings, and what it costs.
That second number matters more than the market-size headline. Parents are already budgeting real money for tuition every year — the question was never whether they would spend it, but which tutor they would spend it with. And that decision usually comes down to whoever answers first with a clear answer: what do you teach, when, and how much.
What actually convinces a parent to enquire
Unlike a lot of service businesses, tutoring sells almost entirely on trust and clarity, not photos. A parent wants to know, in order:
- Which subjects and which grades or levels you teach
- Batch timings, or whether it is one-on-one and flexible
- Whether it is home visits, online, or both
- The fee — monthly, per session, or per full course
- Some proof you are good at this: results, testimonials, years of experience
None of that needs a fancy coaching-app subscription with video hosting and quiz builders bolted on — those genuinely help once you are running a full online course with hundreds of students, but a solo tutor or a small tuition class is paying for a feature set they will never use.
Setting up a booking page for tuition
- List each subject or batch as its own "service" — e.g. "Class 10 CBSE Maths", "Spoken English, beginner batch" — with the fee, or "get a quote" if it varies by student level
- Add timings and mode (home visit / online / in-person) in the description so a parent does not have to ask
- If more than one person teaches, add each tutor with their subjects and experience
- Add a few real testimonials — a WhatsApp message from a parent, a result, a percentage improvement
- Connect WhatsApp so "Enquire now" opens a chat with the specific batch already mentioned
- Share the link in your Instagram bio, in parent WhatsApp groups, and on any local tuition-listing site you already use
Fixed fees vs. "get a quote"
A group batch usually has a clean fixed monthly fee — list it plainly, parents compare on this constantly and hiding it just adds friction. One-on-one tutoring that depends on the student's level, the subject, or how many days a week they need often does not have one honest number — mark that "get a quote" rather than posting a number you will spend the first call talking someone out of.
Why this beats a Facebook post or a flyer
A flyer or a one-off Facebook post gets seen once and then buried. A booking page is the thing you point to every single time — in a new parent WhatsApp group, on a poster with a QR code, forwarded by a parent to another parent. It is one link that never goes stale, because you edit it yourself the moment a batch fills up or a fee changes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I list both home-visit and online tuition on the same page?
Yes — describe the mode in each service listing, or add it as two separate entries if the pricing differs (home visits are often priced higher to cover travel).
What if a batch is full?
Edit the listing to say so, or mark it unavailable — parents would rather see "batch full, next intake in March" than message you and find out after the fact.
Do I need a demo video?
It helps but is not required. A clear description of your teaching style, subjects and results does most of the convincing — video is a nice-to-have once you're set up, not a blocker to starting.
Is this suitable for a coaching institute with many teachers, not just one tutor?
Yes — add each teacher with their subjects as a team member, and list batches by subject and level the same way. It scales from a single home tutor to a small institute; a large multi-branch coaching chain will eventually want a full institute-management platform, but most small and mid-size tuition businesses do not need that yet.
